I really liked the fact that this time around we had the
opportunity to view our classmates’ videos, and see what they had come up with
so far. Since they were video drafts, we got the general idea of what their
topic was on and how they were including important elements needed for the
video. This was a great way to get helpful feedback from the teacher and the
students.
Unfortunately, I was not able to show my draft to the class,
but I thought that everyone had kicked off to a great start! All the skits I
saw today were really creative and funny. I get the feeling that everyone is
really working hard on this video project because I could tell by the amount of
work some people put into their video. I got really good ideas on how I could
improve my video through other students’ feedback. For example, everyone’s
skits were really good! I had a clear understanding of the problems they were
trying to present. In someone’s video they had presented the problem in the
skit, but it didn’t have a solution. The feedback this student got back was to
use a skit in the beginning and then use research, statistics, and resources to
back up and then use the skit to present possible solutions.
I have so many new ideas that I want to incorporate into my
video now. Obviously, I won’t copy someone’s idea, but I can use his or her
framework and throw in my own spin. After I finished my draft I was a little
lost as to where I would take my video. Now I have a better understanding of
what my professor is looking for, and ways I can add the needed criteria needed
for my video.
